DREAM DEFERRED

In Dream Deferred, East Boston high school students are organizing to gain access to a college education. As undocumented immigrants, the students do not qualify for federal financial assistance or in–state tuition. The result is a generation of students who are unable to attend college and for whom a college education is not a part of the “American Dream.” This project is a result of combining community organizing and filmmaking. Ten students worked together for six months to conduct interviews, film their peers, and produce this ten-minute documentary to educate the public about this issue.
